As an eBill Whisperer (aka eBilling Specialist) you will:
Review client billing guidelines and manage appropriate rates in E-billing Systems
Work with Attorneys and Billing Specialists to ensure e-bills are prepared accurately in accordance with clients' outside counsel policies.
Complete e-bill new client setups and system mapping.
Obtain matter identification numbers from clients.
Submit timekeeper data to clients.
Create new e-files in the required Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) format, etc.
Work with Client Billing Attorneys and Billing Specialists to ensure e-bills are prepared accurately and in accordance with clients' outside counsel policies
Submit e-bills to clients and verify successful transmission
Prepare appeals for rejected invoices, and troubleshoot to resolve all issues
Track status of invoices uploaded identify all issues and works with Client Billing Attorneys and Billing Specialists to address client deductions and other issues
Respond to requests for case estimates providing budgets, forecasts and historical profitability
Analyze data in ebilling system and provide weekly performance results to Billing Supervisor
Collaborate with the Client Billing Supervisor to develop and streamline e-billing processes and procedures to increase efficiency, effectiveness and quality of e-billing operations
Track status of insurance company billing engagements to ensure compliance with billing requirements set forth by various insurance company clients, and/or those serving as insurers to existing clients, assuring full payment of firm issued invoices
Complete special projects and ad hoc projects and requests from Client Billing Attorneys and/or Billing Supervisor and/or Smart eBill Team
Contact clients when appropriate for assistance with new vendor/client/matter/timekeeper set-up
Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements (Entry Level - Tier 1) :
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of one year of office experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to learn
Detail-oriented professional with a go-getter attitude
Job Requirements (Tier 2) :
High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Minimum of two years of law firm billing experience, including e-billing experience (including tracking status, troubleshooting, and working with clients' staff to resolve problems), or comparable experience in a corporate legal billing unit
Microsoft Excel and Word experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of e-billing vendor software

High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Minimum of five years of law firm billing experience, including e-billing experience (including tracking status, troubleshooting, and working with clients' staff to resolve problems)
Microsoft Excel and Word experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Generate reports and reconcile all systems
Knowledge of e-billing vendor software
